About Laura

I am a certified dog trainer and behavior specialist with nearly a decade of professional experience. I specialize in behavior modification, particularly complex cases involving severe aggression, fear, anxiety, reactivity, and other challenging behaviors.   

My love for training dogs started in the 90s when my stepdad, a handler for the sheriffs dept/former military K9 training instructor, showed me the basics, having me help out in training. I did this all throughout high school, while also teaching basics to my parent’s friends’ dogs. 

After spending 18 years in the hospitality industry I went back to school. In 2018 I graduated from Starmark Academy, earning my certification as a dog trainer and behavior specialist. I have continued my education through numerous workshops, seminars, and hands-on training opportunities.

For the last 7 years, I served as the head trainer for an established AKC breeder’s kennel, where I completely transformed their training program as well as the way the dogs were handled and managed within the kennel. I’m incredibly proud of the program I helped build and, after finding the right person to take my place, my husband and I decided it was time for a new adventure on the road.
